COLLABORATE: OAUG 20th Anniversary

I arrived around noon today in took 2 hours to get to my hotel, The Excalibur. Fun.

After resting up for about an hour, I headed over to the Mandalay Bay to register and see if I could find Mark Rittman, to present him with his new iPad.

On Friday, through Twitter (have I mentioned how much I love twitter?), he mentioned he couldn't find one. I offered to call up the local Best Buy and Apple store. Best Buy didn't have one, but Apple did. So I headed over on the way back from my "vacation" at the beach. Got his and ended up picking one up for my parents...who have fought over who gets to use it since they received it. In particular, the MLB app for the iPad is pure awesome.

Anyway, I ventured over to the Fusion Soup To Nuts day long presentation where I met Ted Simpson and Floyd Teter, who was running the show apparently.

From there, I headed over to the OAUG 20th Anniversary celebration where they were serving beers in that awesome mug up above. I may or may not have had one or two of those. I tried to move around the room and meet as many people as was mostly me giving those I had already interacted with a hard time. Plus...I may have had pictures with some of the show girls.

(I'm not going to turn down an opportunity like that).

It was a fun event. 20 years is impressive no matter which way you look at it...especially coming from someone like me where 6 months is a long time. Well done OAUG...and thank you for inviting me.
